I have found the house I want.

It has a SEKRIT GARDEN.

And history.  (Weary Dunlop was a student there! )

And is half a block from the Napier Hotel.  And is in my favourite street in Fitzroy.

And at least a couple of friends could come and live with me, and all would be fluffy bunnies, rainbows, and rainbow-coloured fluffy bunnies.

(They keep saying it is three apartments, but looking at the floor plans I can only see two, so I can but assume ther e is also a SEKRIT apartment.  Too much happiness!)

Come on fate, destiny or what-have-you (says the confirmed atheist): won't you come to the party?

My DNA is reminding me of my anglo-celtic roots.  I mean, I very nearly almost got out my umbrella today.

So here is a link to something that is sort of groovy architecturally but only in a really really British sort of way:

The Sliding House That Looks Like a Barn And Would Actually Work In a British Climate.

In the article, they ask "Why Suffolk?".  That's not the question that I would have asked.

Although being sans TV has been very peaceful and spared me from ever having to channel-surf past Bert Newton doing 20-to-1 bullshit countdowns ever again, I have to admit, I'm kind of missing Grand Designs in all its misguided-Brits-attempt-architecture-while-Kevin-McCloud-gives-tough-love glory.

Update: ooooooooo - you CAN download eps of Grand Designs!!  How I love the intarwebs!  Fire up the Bittorrent, Hortense!
